If you've been looking at my YouTube, IG or Facebook content you may be confused about who I am or what I'm doing. I may have made the silly mistake of merging all aspects of my life on one page, but it was intentional. All of these different pieces (music, RV life...) are a part of one whole, Asha Mae. So what is my page all about? It's about faith, family and freedom.
Before anything is my faith, and I'm not talking religion I'm talking spirituality. There's a certain connection that you form with God as you go through life that you just can't deny. At least I can't. I have been through so many storms and I know where my help comes from.
The next thing is my family. My family is such a large part of why I am who I am, both good and bad, but you probably think I'm talking about the family that you see in photos. That's not entirely correct. Yes, my immediate family is my primary family; however, as most religions teach (love thy neighbor as thy self) everyone on this earth is my family. Despite our differences, political parties, religious preferences, skin color, sexual orientation and everything else. Like it or not, we are all one big dysfunctional family. As my grandmother used to say "I love you but I don't love what you do."
Freedom, we can't forget freedom! What is freedom? We all know what freedom is. A quick Google search shows that it is "the power or right to act, speak, or think as one wants without hindrance or restraint." I was born free and I can't imagine life any other way. We are blessed with this life here on earth and I will not accept any human being having dominion over my life as long as I am capable of defending my freedom. We have one shot at this life and we have the right to live it how we please (as long as we aren't harming others of course). We also must deal with the consequences of our decisions, but that's another topic for another day.
